Hey peeps,

My jack socket on my roscoe just stopped working the other day after a bit of crackling for a few days.

I've opened up the back and dismantled the socket and the problem one wire had complete come away from the connection on the socket and one was hanging off.

So right..time for the soldering iron... easy fix...except.

In typical man style....I forgot to look which wire goes where...

Ive uploaded a fairly pooh picture but hopefully it will be enough...

I have three wires

Black
Grey
White

The White is connected fine its the Black and Grey Wires

Looking at the jack socket the white wire is connected on the left hand terminal...is it White Black Grey or White Grey Black..

Thanks for reading

Does the white wire go to the battery? I think the other two terminals are for the earth and the output of the pickups, earth in the centre and the pickup signal to the remaining point.

Let us know which colour wire goes where and we should be able to help.

Heres a link to the Fender wiring diagram but the colours dont seem to match!

If you cant sort it email Fender -- they are usually good at replying!

Will.

Hey,

Thanks thus far.

As far as i can see the black and grey wires feed into the Bart Pre-Amp ?..

Ive taken the batteries out and the white wire feeds through to there..

If you look at the pictures you'll see there is 2 grey wire is the 3rd+5th from the left on the pre-amp and the black is the last wire

2 Grey Wires = 2 Pickups
Black = Earth ??

Thanks guys...!![/quote]

Glad to here it's working again.

But given the above I would advise against a career in bomb disposal..... :)
