Which squier model is it?

If it's one of the cheaper models I'm not sure it's worth splashing a lot of cash on it. By the time you replace all those bits the outlay would be more than the rest of the bass. Personally I'd consider saving the money, selling the bass and buying a classic vibe.

Unless of course that's what you've already got. :)

i have started stripping it, sanding, gonna respray it, and new hardware and keep it going for a while :)
Hah!

In that case try Schaller or Gotoh tuners to match the bridges mentioned by rasher.

have you tried out the bass with everything set correctly, new strings, and a heart full of rock?

its a shame to upgrade for another 10% sound and -50% dosh

tho i am needing to purchase the rest of the set up first.
i have the T shirt for that route

i would say a bridge may be in order first if not through body strung

give the pups a chance and use the preamp/eq to do the talking...volume really comes after that control

strings will give some latitude for style and ease of playing...you fretting hand pressure etc

finally...dont look in the mirror till you can play the thing with your eyes shut!!...splts are money suckers
