JHBASS
Hello, Ive just got one question. Do you guys recommend Fender's Flatwound Strings, or Rotosound's Jazz Bass 77's? Any info will be appriciated! Cheers, Josh
Greene-Mann
I really would recommend the Roto's They've been voted best flat by one of the bass mags and from experience i can say they are fantastic strings. I tried fender flats once and i found they lost their life very very quickly Hope this is of some help Chris
OutToPlayJazz
I had the Rotosound jazz bass 77's on my Hofner & it sounded immense. Lovely strings.

FWIW, Steve Harris aside, Rotosound aren't really known for their flats... having tried them for a while, I can see why. Along with Fender, you could have a look at La Bella, TIs, Chromes... it might be worthwhile reading up about these first. Not that it's relevant, but I love the La Bellas. Hope this helps... maybe.
