Been lurking for a few months now and thought I ought to introduce myself.

I am Steve, just turned 50. Married with two kids and a day job with HP.

Been playing bass for 10ish years (spent most of the rest playing acoustic guitar). Always fancied bass but never really got round to it till I was too old. I play mostly in church but occasionally for some rather eclectic friends ( a Klesma band and a hardcore dance act!). I am not a greatly accomplished player but enjoy keeping the song going. Cant sight read but have a reasonably good ear and tend to play off the cuff (unless practice is really required). My gear is all cheap stuff OLP MM3 and Peavey valve pre-amp, amp and cab but I am pretty happy with it. If you look hard in this vid you can briefly see me pretending to play at a hardcore rave. I am the guy in the cans behind the guy in the mask and beard. For the KLF fans among you, the guy on the mic is Bello B! I suspect he has no clue who I am. Bello B live on CLSM PA 2004

You can also hear me play here. Stevanjohns

Hi V4lve - welcome to the Forum. :)

In describing yourself, you've listed a number of characteristics - which in one way or another are shared by a large number of people here - except maybe the Klezma - that's a bit more unusual!

Hope you enjoy yourself here.
