RonC Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Hi all, I’m building a headless bass at the moment (fretless 5 string) and can’t decide the best spot for the logo. I’m gonna place it as an inlay on the fretboard but I doubt between the position at the 12th fret or after the 24th. Because it’s a 5 string, one string will run through the middle. I’m gonna use black strings. What looks best? (Build diary will follow when it’s finished!) Quote
Mediocre Polymath Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I think the convention that was settled on in the 80s is that the logo goes on the body, parallel to the centreline and either close to or directly above the fingerboard. As ony Honher I think Washburn, Steinberger, Status and Ibanez put theirs in the same place. Not saying you have to, but that seems to be the convention. Quote
RonC Posted 4 hours ago Author Posted 4 hours ago Thought about that too but I really like the contrast between ebony and maple. Quote

RonC Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago It’s sure is a possibility but wouldn’t that be an overkill? Quote
Pea Turgh Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago My vote would be for the body end of the fretboard- not seen one like it and it sits nicely. Quote
Hellzero Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago There is also this possibility or on the treble side... Quote
