Maggsy Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago When I plug my sansamp deluxe into the effects return of my terror bass head the output level is very high (unusable) even with the level control of the Sansamp turned down. Tried it through my Genz Benz shuttle and it's fine. Both amps class D. Any ideas please? Quote
Skybone Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Is there a master volume on the Terror, or a control for the FX loop? Been doing the same with various Line6 boxes over the years (currently a POD Go), and it's been fine with my Ashdown MAG combo, because there's a master volume. Haven't tried the FlyRig outside the house, but again, it's been fine. Quote
BassAdder60 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago If I recall the Orange Terror amps have some quirky thing going on with the FX loop. I’m sure I read something about it on in here a few years back where the master volume doesn’t work although the mk1 did Perhaps try a dummy jack into the input as I recall another amp brand did something odd if nothing plugged into the input jack even though you want to only use fx return Quote
dannybuoy Posted 33 minutes ago Posted 33 minutes ago I have a Mk1 and it has the opposite problem, the FX loop runs extremely hot so most pedals don’t output a level as hot as its own tube preamp. Then again, I’ve never felt the need to use the fx return. Bass Gear mag measured the preamp to be pretty much flat with the bass/treble knobs at minimum and the mids at maximum, so you could just set it like that and use the main input if you wanted a flat power amp. Although I understand the Mk2 preamp differs somewhat so the flat EQ positions may well differ. Quote
