Soldering question

Hi guys, finally pulled trigger on a new pickup for my stingray project bass. Im going to replace everything while im at it. 

 

Went with the Aguilar AG4M. Got the diagram from the website. 

 

My noob question is that do I link all the earth's off the pot's back to the jack like in the picture?

yes, all of the earths need to be connected together. 

 

Top Tip - soldering to the back of pots can be tricky, as they have some plating on the back of them that makes it difficult. Use some wire wool or fine grit glass/sand paper to take to coating off so that the solder adheres better to the bare metal.

Good tip. Also get the iron properly hot when soldering to pot cases, 420 degrees is good but be quick, don't leave the iron touching the metal for too long.
