dave_bass5 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 Im currently in a band that rehearse in the singers living room. We have a drum kit (thats has dampening pads) and the two guitars use smallish amps but we dont play too loud I go through an old Peavey 150watt 1x15 combo, but it's kept in the adjacent room, with plants on top lol. Im loath to turn it up as it's in a glass conservatory so the neighbours will get annoyed. I can hear it ok most of the time. Singer won't let me move it before you mention it. The issue I have is before it's a room away, there is a lack of definition by the time it gets to my ears. I can use EQ, but that still wouldn't fix the glass room and reflections issue. Anyway, im thinking of getting the above speaker that I can use in the same room as the band. Play quieter, get heard with a bit less bloom. I was looking at things like the Joyo 30watt but this seems more practical. Just wondered if anyone has any thoughts. I will never need to gig it or use it in a larger rehearsal room, I have other things for that, but this seems small and cheap enough that I'll just leave it at the singers house. Quote
Mykesbass Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I had one as a monitor and noodled through it at home a couple of times. Was impressed but never used it as an amp with other players. Quote
dave_bass5 Posted January 23 Author Posted January 23 Thanks. It looks like a step up from the small bass combos I’ve been looking at. Will get one ordered before the next rehearsal. Quote
dave_bass5 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I ended up getting an Alto TX408, mainly as it was cheaper and Amazon had them. It seems very loud and punchy for something that size. Easily kept up with the band and drummer with volume to spare. Just wish it had more handle options like the db has. Edited 1 hour ago by dave_bass5 Quote
