Brian18242 Posted December 17, 2025 Posted December 17, 2025 Question: Do you think there would be enough room on a standard fender 51 P bass cavity (Control plate) for an active EMG P pickup with battery? Not looking to make any body modification to fit the battery but honestly not sure it would fit. Can't find any info online. Quote
Beedster Posted December 18, 2025 Posted December 18, 2025 If you post the dimensions of the circuit and battery I can tell you for sure, but I suspect the answer is no Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 Let me take some pics of my 50s single coil P-Bass control cavity to see if there is room Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted December 27, 2025 Posted December 27, 2025 Nope - looks like you'd need to create a separate battery compartment. Here are the basic dimensions on my bass. Body thickness = 42mm Standard cavity depth & width = 30mm deep, 22mm wide. Pots and capacitor depth from bottom of control plate = 24mm. Duracell battery = 23mm wide (wider than the standard cavity routing, and 18mm thick. 1 1 Quote
Brian18242 Posted December 27, 2025 Author Posted December 27, 2025 Thanks all. I ended up going with a passive dimarzio relentless p pickup. 1 Quote
