Bill Fitzmaurice Posted yesterday at 11:49 Posted yesterday at 11:49 Celestion hired me to design compact lightweight enclosures for their TSQ 1845 and 2145 drivers. They're now posted on the Celestion site as free PDFs with youtube videos. https://celestion.com/blog/build-this-18-inch-bass-reflex-enclosure-featuring-the-tsq1845/ https://celestion.com/blog/build-this-21-inch-bass-reflex-enclosure-featuring-the-tsq2145/ 2 1 Quote
JPJ Posted yesterday at 14:29 Posted yesterday at 14:29 Wow these look great. Any idea of finished weight and recommended crossover frequency, or is that covered in the download? Quote
Bill Fitzmaurice Posted yesterday at 15:06 Author Posted yesterday at 15:06 They're very light, as they are built from 12mm plywood and the drivers are neo. The exact weight depends on the plywood species, but they're going to be lighter than most commercial offerings. Like any sub they should cross to the mains between 80 and 120 Hz. 2 Quote
Huge Hands Posted yesterday at 15:28 Posted yesterday at 15:28 They remind me of some EV single 18" subs a venue I worked in had about 26 years ago, and they were probably a good few years old then. They were probably about 10 times the weight of your designs, but those EVs used to act like they had sold their soul to the sub-frequency devil and rumble away like mad! I have fond memories of them - I assume yours will be just as good if not better! Quote
Phil Starr Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Congratulations upon getting this commision Bill I'm sure it will be a useful resource for many people Quote
Bill Fitzmaurice Posted 10 minutes ago Author Posted 10 minutes ago Thanks. Celestion hasn't been known for PA drivers for DIY but they're getting very strong in that market. Quote
