notifications and reactions not working

If I click on the notifications bell the pull-down appears but spins and shows no conent, but if I click on "View all notifications" it takes me to a page of links which works.

I tried clicking on a "Like" (annoyingly in the "Daily Annoyances" thread) and it said "Sorry, there was a problem reacting to this content.".

Not seeing anything in the logs here that relates to that. The 'Sorry there was a problem reacting to this content' is an error caused by mixing http and https, but I can't see why you would be doing that. if you force reload the page and click does it do the same?
