Thumb rest for 4001V63

Hi All, 

 

Anyone know of a company or one man in a shed that can make a custom thumb rest that mounts to the screws holes of the pickguard of a Rickenbacker 4001V63? 

I ordered the standard one from Retrovibe (ThumbChum) and then found out it doesn't fit, also checked with RickySounds before buying theirs and they've confirmed it won't fit. 

 

Whilst I can manage without, it would be nice to have one.

As far as I’m aware, Zero Mod will create and sell you one. You probably know that they are in the U.S. and charge a bunch for shipping (plus possible customs etc.).

I am not aware of anybody in Europe who has one of these in their inventory.

 

Maybe a modified 3D printer file?

I’m also looking for one and, as a last resort, might be able to sweet-talk my son into creating a file for a stretched version that would fit a V63/V64 series. Stay tooned.

Ah, something to keep in mind then as my plec playing isn't the most refined..

I've emailed Zero-Mod and will see what they say. 

 

Also tried to use an import duty calculator and it didn't seem like much extra (less than a tenner) but I guess that doesn't take into account any handling fees or whatever else.
