kevin_lindsay Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Home build, home sprayed, home assembled and setup. TV has nothing decent to watch, so this is how I keep myself amused. 5 Quote

Silky999 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Lovely looking bit of work!!! Any issues with the paint shrinking into the grain yet? I just had to re-spray the one I’m doing as left it to cure for a month then it shrank into the pores despite grain filler and sanding sealer. I suspect the recent heatwaves have played havoc with the nitro causing it to shrink. 1 Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago The nitro is still smooth on this bass. I left the body for around 4 weeks before I flatted the finish then buffed it to a shine. As for the staining on the pickguard edges, that was simply yellow wood dye, applied with a cotton bud (do this with the pickguard off the body! If you tried to do it with the pickguard in place, it would be very easy to hit the nitro on the body, which the nitro simply loves to soak up, making clean-up a nightmare) 1 Quote
