90's MIJ jazz bass pickups - price drop £40 posted - *SOLD* £60 Morecambe

Original pickups from an MIJ Fender 75RI jazz, 1995 and NOS bass, imported from japan by the previous owner.

Some of these basses had pickups from the USA, as the bass was made strictly for Japanese market, i think these are MIJ.

 

 

They are high quality and have a large bar magnet on the bottom, So i think these may be ceramic units.

 

I briefly fitted them to my 82 JV jazz, and they have a very clear/modern HIFI tone, with a bright sound  and tight in the bottom, they are fairly even in the mids and sound fantastic. 

 

I could be daft selling these, but i wont use them, and they'll really enliven a dull sounding jazz, maybe spruce up a squire, so hopefully theyll pimp someones baby for not much money 😊

They're In great, and id say fairly unused condition.

Id say yes maybe you're right. Ive been looking up MIJ pickups from that time, and some had a ceramic bar magnet. It would explain the tone, which is quite bright with a strong output.
