Marvin Posted April 29 Posted April 29 They seemed to start out as a second hand/recycling guitar shop. A few years ago they moved into Mansons old shop in Exeter. However, it seems that the shop has been cleared and remains closed of now. There seems to be mixed opinions about the shop and its owners and business practices from comments on social media. Anyway, that's another guitar shop gone. 2 Quote
Mrbigstuff Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Instruments are still in demand but the idea of a shop has been hampered by the demise of high street attendance in general. Without wanting to state the obvious, the shops that seem to make it work are specialists where people will travel specifically and more likely purchase as a result. 1 Quote
Lozz196 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Agree, plus the way we buy is different now. When I bought my first couple of basses it was go to the local shop and buy what you could afford. No thought of specs, just what was within affordability. Now there’s so much info online all the research as to what spec is desired can be done at home including the purchase. 2 Quote
NHM Posted May 1 Posted May 1 memory lane - my first bass was an Eros jazz copy, from Greenhalgh's Music, Fore St., Exeter (in 1977) which I think was the shop before Manson's came on the scene. Sad to see another shop go, but if you don't use it you'll lose it as they say. Quote
