Soldering question.

Hey all, 

 

I’ve got an issue with my Squier Jaguar. 

 

It had a loose jack socket and I’ve accidentally twisted the wireless while it was inside and it’s broken this cable off… 

 

I’ve never touched pickups or electrics on a bass before but I’d quite like to try and fix this myself as it’s a pretty cheap non gigging bass and, well I need to start somewhere… 

 

It looks like this little white cable is soldered from the jack socket to the pot that’s marked… 

 

Am I correct or have I got this completely wrong?

 

Also, would I better stripping it off the control plate or just resoldering it in sitchu?

While you're in there, your future self will thank you if you junk the existing socket and replace it with a switchcraft or pure tone one.
