Daddario XL 5 string - 130- 45 £18 Morecambe

Been experimenting with gauges, due to wrist troubles, and gone with a lighter set. Bought a double pack, so will keep one. Brand new sealed in packaging  Daddario nickel plated steel, 130-45 gauge.

Does the 'XL' mean they're extra long scale - i.e. 35 inch as opposed to the usual 34 inch scale?

EXL means nickel strings and EPS means stainless in D'Addario language. I have a set of these on my 35" scale bass if that helps. The windings would be too short for 36" scale or if you're running strings through the body.

Sorry just seen this.

As above its just the name for their nickel strings. Ive not tried these on a 35", ive a set on a yamaha BB which is through body, so has a bit of length.

Ivecused a 125-40 set, but wrist issues aside, i hate that gauge, so going back to 130-45
