I picked up some educational books in a trade the other week

It got me thinking how useful some books have been for me. I think I got the Jamerson book in 1992(?) it arrived with cassettes not CD’s!! IMG_1082.thumb.jpeg.52c04fee544cc9bcba4806d38b1db16a.jpeg

I've had good luck with an older playing guide from Chuck Rainey that shows up in used book bins pretty regularly: The Complete Electric Bass Player Series. There are five volumes total.

The Chuck Sher and Rufus Reid books are awesome. Not trendy and thus probably not popular but a lifetime of learning in them.

John Goldsby Jazz Bass Book - very good

I sort of need to buy another one - my present one is beaten badder than a novice member of Opus Dei
