Big Low End Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 Iāve been using an OBNE Signal Blender for a while to blend overdrive, a harsher distortion and a clean signal. Despite trying all the options of the phase buttons, I was never able to quite stop it from sounding a bit muddy/unclear. Ā So I recently looked at all the reviews for the EHX Tri Parallel Mixer and swapped it in. Iām parallel mixing exactly what I was with the OBNE (clean, OD, distortion) but Iām far happier with the clarity of the final signal. I donāt know what it is, whether thereās better management of phasing, but it just sounds better and less muddy. Ā Just my observations in case anyone is considering buying one of the two. Ā With neither pedal was there a loss of low end, itās just that the EHX seems to do everything with a bit more clarity. 1 Quote
stewblack Posted October 21, 2024 Posted October 21, 2024 The Tri Parallel Mixer is a superb pedal. So many options, really well designed.Ā Can't comment on the OBN as I've not tried it. 1 Quote
Boodang Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 I use the tri mix at the heart of my board. Not only for parallel mixing but also to match gain structures for inputs/outputs. Some pedals can have sensitive inputs and this solve the problem. Plus pedals in parallel is an awesome option to have.Ā 1 Quote
