Sandberg VT4 California Blueburst with Maple neck *PRICE DROP £ 1100* £1200 Italy

Selling a Sandberg VT4 California II bass, made in Germany in 2018, the latest model in a nice matte blueburst finish with maple neck and fretboard with block markers and black hardware. Ash body, satin finish with visible wood grain.

The bass is lightweight (3.98 kg) and comfortable, with a satin neck similar to a Jazz Bass one (nut width 40mm). The neck width at the heel is 63mm and it has a 20mm string spacing (it can be set to 19mm adjusting the bridge). Low string action, around 1.6 mm at 12th fret, currently with little used roundwound .100-.045 Rotosound strings.

Active electronics with two P+J Delano large pole pickups and volume, balance and separate treble and bass tone controls. The volume pot also has an active/passive push-pull switch.

The bass is equipped with a custom made clear pickguard and opaque black control plate, but I have the original 3-ply black pickguard (visible in one of the pictures here) and separate control plate and they will be included.

The excellent Sandberg custom made bridge allows standard height and intonation adjustments along with string spacing correction.

The bass is in absolutely Near Mint condition, has the original gigbag and will be shipped with sturdy cardboard box.

The current price list for this configuration is over 2100 Euros (around £ 1790) on the Sandberg site, with a waiting time of approx. six months.

I only sell to European buyers, possibly from the EU to avoid problems with customs documentation to be supplied, along with the import taxes to be paid by the buyer.

I was asked about the bridge adjustment capabilities. Compared to a Fender-style bridge, this may seem complex, but it just needs a few minutes to understand how it works and to achieve a perfect setting.
The bridge may resemble those used on Steinberger or Status headless basses, with individual sliding saddles that can be moved back and forth by hand to reach the perfect intonation and then locked in place using one of the five hex screws on each saddle.

Three other screws are to adjust the height of each string, the fifth screw is used to lock/unlock the horizontal movement of the saddle insert to adjust string spacing.
