Lozz196 Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 So a new pedal day, an Ashdown Geezer Butler Pedal of Doom.Ā Ā Now Iām not a particular fan of Geezer or Black Sabbath but am a big fan of Ashdown and this pedal looked on paper to do what I want - that is one good clean Ashdown tone, with the ability to add in a touch of drive/gain. Ā And it does! At nearly Ā£300 itās not cheap, but it does have two separate channels each with their own independent eq (apart from shared treble) plus the Doom which can be applied on each so essentially four different sounds available. But the main reason for getting this was having a preamp/DI Ā that could give me that lovely Ashdown tone for gigs where the rig is provided, as Iāve found recently that although Iāve used Tech21 gear for years my ears have gone off it, preferring more traditional amp sounds. Ā Iām yet to use it in a band setting, I do have gigs on Thu & Fri but Iām using my ABM600 for those so I wonāt have a chance to use it with a band before the return period is up so Iām gonna have to make sure Iām totally satisfied with it, but first impressions are good. 5 Quote
Lozz196 Posted November 9, 2022 Author Posted November 9, 2022 Well itās going back. Used it again last night and itās picking up interference - checked it using the same PSU on my two other preamps, both ok, used a different PSU on all three pedals, ok on the others, same issue on the Doom. 3 Quote
dudewheresmybass Posted November 9, 2022 Posted November 9, 2022 do you think it's a faulty unit or just inherent in the design (which i can't imagine lol) Quote
Lozz196 Posted November 9, 2022 Author Posted November 9, 2022 I reckon faulty unit rather than design fault but Iām a bit dubious/wary re gear once Iāve had something fail on me, generally steer clear of those specific items from then on so itās refund time. 1 Quote
