Fact is, I don't play much and have a very nice "back-up" bass which easily covers what I need. And playing the back-up for a while you conclude "This is good". Grab the Alembic,play a few notes and you immediaetely realize it's miles above "Good" to the level of "Excellent", "Unparallelled" and "Unique". The evenness in volume across the entire neck. the way the tone develops, the punch in it, the content of wood meets metal meets electronics etc. etc. I've steeped down before, but from this level, it's not easy. ped Posted November 1, 2022 Share Posted November 1, 2022 This used to be my dream bass (Still is, sorta) after my bass hero Trevor Dunn from Mr Bungle played one. I had similar electronics in a Europa shape bass which sounded really clear and 'piano' like but unfortunately it was a six string and I'm more of a 4 stringer.
