Jazzman Posted August 22, 2007 Share Posted August 22, 2007 In this months Bass Guitar Magazine I noticed an advert for Bass Idol. How interesting, i thought. However, on looking at the website (www.bassidol.com) I have become a little suspicious. You have to submit a video of your playing. Fair enough. However, it also costs £20 just to enter! You are basically paying somone £20 to watch 10 minutes of playing. 10 people will be selected to compete in a live final. Finalists got to play an unpaid gig that the promoters were making money on. It smells like a money making scheme. I wonder why Gibson & Roland got involved...
