Not many of them around as it wasn't popular, but it was the 80s so they were trying to go for something pointy. One of those basses that is hard to find but not many people are looking. I think they are nice, enjoyed playing one at the last bass bash, even if the volume is pretty temperamental. So why do you think it is fake? I can't see it would be worth faking them, they are not really worth enough to put the effort in compare to say an old jazz or something.
