Are there pickups a standard enough format to be easily swapped out ?

Thanks, I've actually got no experience of soapbars. Any suggestions on what might be a good replacement for the stock ones?

No idea. I quite like the stock Peavey pickups

Not really.

 

Barts and EMG soapbars are smaller. When I replaced the pickups in mine the nearest thing was get rosewood covers and load them with Warman Jazzbars even then there was a fair gap.
