I need to buy a trussrod for a project bass, i need it as soon as possable, and with no minimum order value so stewmac and thomann are out!
Any ideas![/quote]

a small engineering company should be able to supply a screwed rod and plate nut...you would need a pattern
does that make any sense..someone must make them for those other firms...

or try the sound wood section of craft supplies

I have bought truss rods for home builds from them in the past and had good service, they have some nice wood to.
If you can get the hard copy version of their catalogue it is considerably better than the one they have up on the web.

but try this link

I thought craft supplies were going stagnant on their support of guitar building, less and less stock, no-one who is able to answer questions knowledgably, etc.
I get my truss rods from Touchstone Tonewoods (and fingerboards too - their ebony and rosewood is usually really nice quality)

That's sad but true, also you would go there for wood... they have some still. Not the first place I would go for hardware or metalwork.
