gypsyjazzer 14 Posted August 27, 2019 (edited) Due to 'Old age creeping in' (me) and recent hip operation I need to sell my trusty DB--I now play an EUB--for portability. (EUB not the same but 'does the job'). My double bass has served me well over the past 40 years. A good sounding bass. Well looked after. Plays very well. Ply back and sides with I believe a spruce top. No splits or cracks and well maintained. Side and thumb position markings. Fitted EP 'Weich' (light strings). Good for pizz and arco. Adjustable bridge. Comes with quality padded 'Mooridian' case/cover. Open to sensible offers. PM me if interested. asaphbass 0 Posted September 4, 2019 Okay thanks. Just one more question- do you know if the fingerboard is real ebony or just an ebonite/ other wood? Thanks !
gypsyjazzer 14 Posted September 5, 2019 (edited) As far as I know--ebony. No wear on the fingerboard after many years of practice / gigging. Good to play. No 'gooves / concave' wear from fingers. gypsyjazzer 14 Posted September 5, 2019 Would exchange for quality Acoustic Archtop Guitar---what have you?
Duckyincarnate 22 Posted September 5, 2019 I don't have a stake in this but that looks like a perfect beginner bass - looks nicely set up, quality strings, sturdy case. It's even got position markers! Good luck with the sale.
Malvis 14 Posted September 5, 2019 And just in case it helps sway any potential buyers, those Mooradian bags are the business. New ones sell for upwards of $500 in the States. GLWTS!
headofire 94 Posted September 22, 2019 That’s a boosey and hawkes golden Strad if I’m not mistaken. Pine top. Looks like the maple board has been replaced and it’s been refinished. I have one, great basses.
