  2. Hi, they’re the new Golden Spring guts from Aquila, they sound very good… They really reflect the attributes of each different bass, I find. Unsympathetic to a badly shot fingerboard. I prefer real guts (today) but these are definitely great strings and worth having in the box/cupboard/wardrobe.
  3. 19cm until string starts then 116cm string then 24cm of covered bit again. Hope that helps.
  4. I'm selling my German Wolff Brothers Bass valued by Ken Knussen at 12500 for insurance purposes. It's a great bass- I've attached a pic of Drew Gress playing it and he really liked it. Rick Rosato and Michael Formanek have also used it for gigs and said they liked it. My friend Sam absolutely loves it. It's an average 3/4 size, comfortable to play and loud. The sound is dark but singing, and suits spiros as well as guts. The neck is, as you can see from the pictures, very nicely flamed and was reshaped by Laurence so feels great. All in all it's a joy to play. The bass amplifies well and is sold with a realist (in avg condition) attached. It had a lot of work done by Laurence Dixon about 5 years ago including the top off and bass bar crack fixed, and at the same time he did everything else that needed doing inside so it's in great condition. You are welcome to try it in Bedford. Any questions please do let me know. Thanks
  5. Sorry- yes- the chap I bought them from doesn't know. I'll measure them and get back to you.
  6. The Gensslers are very bowable- I'll ask the chap I bought them from (who's on this forum) if he knows what string length they were made for.

  8. Hello, I'm interested but far from you. Are you planning a trip down the M1 / A1 at all? Thanks A
  9. Are you willing to split the job lot? I'm interested in any guts / synthetic strings. And searching for an evah weich A if that's among the jumble. Thanks, A
  10. Okay, time has come to get rid of some strings. (Don't worry- the money will probably be spent on more strings). GUT: Aquila Golden Springs Vintage- on bass for about a week, so basically new condition (D and G)- £200 Gamut Red Diamond G - new, never used - £80 Gamut Red Diamond full set - used for a month or two, good condition but fluffy round the pegbox end- £200 Oliv A- bought used but looks to be in good condition. bought as part of a set and unused by me - £50 SYNTHETIC: Evah Slaps E and A - bought used but used by me for only about a week - £50 **SOLD** Genssler Red Label G,D,A - used them for about 2 weeks until the E snapped and took them off. I emailed Gerold about this and he explained that the metal part of the string shouldn't be wound around the peg so if you're interested in these then best to chat about measurements of your bass. Drew Gress liked them.... - £150 STEEL: Spiro G - used, fine condition, pegbox end are a bit worn but string itself is good - £20 each (2 available) Flexocore E - no idea how i've ended up with this. Looks hardly used - £25 If you have any questions about any of the strings, or would like to see pictures, just let me know. Delivery to UK included, if you're further afield, PM me to discuss.

  12. Hi there, is the Felix still available by any chance? Thanks
  13. Hello again! I have some Gamut Red Diamonds which I've been toying with selling for a while, if that interests you? There's more info on their website but the D and G are nylon wrapped gut and the E and A are copper wound I believe. Loving the bass you sold me by the way ! Thanks again.
