Wayne Firefly
Im trying to sort out a lightweight rig to take out with my rockabilly band to stick my double bass through. I've got a Gallien MB500 which is ace, Im after a cab to run with it. Anyone got any honest real world opinions about the Markbass NY151 1x15 cabinet ? Projection, volume, bottom end, efficiency etc, you know what I mean.
Raslee
I used to have one of these a few years back. Really liked it, and portable too. I thought for a 15” it had good projection but was just a little on the boomy side for me in a 50/60’s soul type function band so switched to MB 2x10” travelers. But the 15”, coupled with a MB Jeff Berlin combo made for an awesome reggae rig. Edited October 12, 2018 by Raslee
Reggaebass
I have one and IMO they’re great you can get some serious low end but the mids And highs are crystal clear the tweeter doesn’t really seem to do anything much. They are very light and really well made. I was using the ashdown mag 115 deep which I still have but the markbass is far superior in every way If you’re in east London or Essex area you’re welcome to have a go on mine
