Investigated pickups - was about to buy a reissue... A chap had a 1985 Aria pickup in the same chassis, and I had it fitted. It sounds brilliant - snappy aggressive and then a flick of the 6 way switch or tone control, or selector switch, it's about 15 basses in one. In unbelievable condition really, 3 knocks in the lacquer - one on each "hip" and one on the lower horn at the rear. Plays perfectly. Wearing extra slinkies. I have a 1981 SB-700 I've just got a softer spot for as it was bought from the original owner who'd never played it. I have a 1981 case to go with either. £50 gets it.
