dave_bass5 Posted September 16, 2008 Share Posted September 16, 2008 (edited) Ive been playing it for a while now but just heard a recording of us doing it and now im not sure its right. Can anyone confirm or correct the main riff for me (not including the twiddly bits) I think its E - Bb - B - B - A but its the Bb that's sounds like its clashing with the guitar. Im a bit embarrassed about this but i want to get it sorted. Guess my ears are getting on a bit these days. cheers. SJA Posted September 16, 2008 Share Posted September 16, 2008 (edited) it'll clash if the guitarist is playing an E note at the bottom of the chord, or if he's got too much low end in his sound (or if the room's acoustics emphasise that area), as the fundamentals of the flat fifth of Bb/A# against E will be dissonant. steve-soar Posted September 16, 2008 Share Posted September 16, 2008 It a very clever song and Graham is a big fan of dissonance, I like the way the chorus is in two seperate parts, the first is an extension of the verse, then the descending G, F#, E, D.
