Just wondering if there is an awesome bass chatter out there who could point me in the direction of a good resource or book for building a bass? I've been thinking about it for a while now and now I've just got myself a big man (shed) I am considering making a start! I've been on Amazon and there are lots to choose from and they are obviously more focused on 6 string making. Anyone got one they can recommend? Norris Posted September 25, 2015 Share Posted September 25, 2015 A good one to start with is "Build Your Own Electric Guitar" by Melvyn Hiscock. Although it's mainly about guitars rather than basses, the principles are the same (and one of his example builds is an 8 string bass). Ignore the ridiculous prices on Amazon and get it direct from Melvyn's web site.
