drums1977 Posted September 10, 2014 Share Posted September 10, 2014 (edited) For sale my 1965 Jazz Bass. It was refinished in black a few years ago, but I was told It was originally black. It is a very good refin. Pick guard looks like a recent one. Neck date is august 65, Pots are 34th week 65, so august as well. This is a typical early transition model. Fender was sold to CBS in january '65, so the big changes had not occurred yet. Neck plate serial is L73542, so typically PreCBS. Fingerboard dots are pearloid. The rosewood in the neck is very dark and beautiful. The body contours are deep like only old Fenders have. Superlight at 3,7 Kg and very resonant. All electronics look original and sound strong. The tone of this girl is just classic good-old JazzBass. Comes with original, period-correct no-logo OHSC in OK condition. Also bridge cover, but again I doubt it is from the 60s.
