TheRockinRoadie Posted March 18, 2014 Share Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) Hi all, I haven't had my Skyline 44-02 out much until recently, and it could do with a fresh set of strings and a set up really. I do all this sort of thing myself and for others, but I'm a little bit concerned about cleaning the frets, as the maple neck seems fairly unfinished to me. Normally I would mask the neck and use careful amounts of brasso, then clean the fretboard afterwards, but I don't want to make everything turn into a big horrible dark smudge. Has anyone got any tips or advise? All help much appreciated! Hopefully that will be safe! [/quote] Hi, I allways use the 00000 grade steelwool, wich i belive to be smoother than wirewoll. It´s perfectly safe for this kind of work. The wire wool methods works fantasically, but it does leave a lot of mess. i don't mind though!
