PA advice please

Our singer is looking for a PA system to bring to rehearsal with us and also take to gigs where no PA is available
At present she is using my borrowed 60 watt rms pa which is just about ok but we have everything on full for her to be just about audible over us noisy sods

Her dad (my best mate) is looking around to buy one for her and he has seen this on eBay

Looks ok on paper but I know nothing about PA or this particular brand and model
2x 300 watt or 2 x 200 watt with the speakers provided should be plenty
Any advice or experience would be appreciated

Personally I'd look for something like a Spirit Powerstation and a pair of Peavey HiSys 2s.. You'll spend only a little bit more money but it'd be well worth it..

This one is a bit over priced but other examples come up for less monies..

These are still great speakers on a budget..

Be aware that many brands exaggerate output watts to give the impression of more power.
In this case they suggest 200 watts rms at 8ohms which even if true, is probably a little low.
If they are out by 50 watts a side in real terms you'll end up with a 300 watt p.a,which is probably less than your bass amp,right?
You need to spend more to get something useable in my opinion, of course.
I would also suggest you buy a separate amp and mixer, to avoid losing both should one fail.

Buy the best you can afford and then you will not have to buy again in terms of quality.

You need to hear it loud to see if the high end is powerful and clear.
The number of P.A's I hear with 'blown' horns.... and where the band has
a 'make-do' mentality on the P.A

A poor P.A cannot do anything but hinder a band.......IMO
