Cheap stingray a likes on this ebay page.

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=140911768366

With the exception of headstock I think it looks like quite a nice ray-alike for just over £100 notes.

I assume passive as no mention of preamp.

Unless you really want a new bass, wouldn't it be safer to go for a second hand Vintage EST96? They're easily available second hand for about 100 notes or so. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2c72407f63 And they're proper active Stingray copies. For less money, there's the Westfield copy. Here's one on here which was sold for £30. http://basschat.co.u...tyle-bass-sold/ (albeit with bent, though working, tuner).

The no-brand ones could be decent, but I think the Vintage EST96 in particular is likely to be a safer bet.

Edit: The seller has sold hundreds of the basses, with seemingly few left in some models.

I actually have no interest on getting on of these clones just pointing them out as per the ebay weird and wonderful in case they may be of interest to someone.

I've got a Vintage EST96 myself anyway and that does the trick, I suppose second hand you could get a lot of better things than this ebay page for 100 quid but if someone finds it of interest it may have been worth the post.

I wasn't meaning to criticise you for posting the link, just heading out on some discussion based on it. If the sales statistics on those pages are accurate, then they certainly have been of interest to someone. I probably shouldn't have used the 'you' in the start of my post, as I meant it to be the generic 'you', but in hindsight it does look as if I was addressing you specifically.

The seller also sells Les Paul clones that were claimed on the page to be through neck (!) I think they might have confused set neck for through neck :)

According to the annoying eBay popup, seven have been sold in the last 24 hours. Perhaps we should just wait a month or so and see if they pop up second hand? If none of them do, then either they are gorgeous or they are killing their owners... :D

(Is that legally actionable? I do not speak for BassChat, nor is BassChat responsible for my opinions... )

After a number of them have been sold, there should be reviews appearing somewhere on the net. I'm not sure that the following review should be taken at face value.

No reviews that I could find on Amazon for the MM style bass, but the semi-Jazz bass style bass has a few good reviews from purchasers. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Benson-Blueburst-electric-amplifier-package/dp/B004RMFLJ2/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
