Melodic recall software?

Hi guys

as part of my auditions next year there will be a section on melodic and harmonic recall. Which is literally play back the melody or roots of th progression. I can't find any software/websites that help with this. Interval training is good but the focus is to reproduce a melody on the bass.

any ideas ?

Transcribe! Is a really useful bit of software that allows you to loop and slow down (with or without changing the pitch) of a sound file. I use it for transcribing solos/basslines. This might be useful for you.

I have no idea if there is a training program for what you need but I would suggest just get transcribing melody/chords/basslines, and you will get quicker at it, it's just a matter of practice, there aren't any shortcuts unfortunately.

Are you sure you get to use your bass ?

My audition we couldn't use an instrument, we were just given a root note as a reference and had to use our knowledge of intervals etc.
Start with the rhythm and then go onto the melody, you usually get marks for both so if the pitch is wrong, you'll still get something for the correct rhythm.
