Interesting Technique

I dont really know too much about this bass player, I'm sure some of you already know what Im about to say, but I thought I'd share it with you anyways. I came across the vid on youtube, Its interesting the way he's a lefty, but strings his bass backwards, so the Low string is where the high string would normally be and vice versa, this leads me to believe that he learnt using a right handed bass turned upside down and not restrung to accomodate left handed playing i.e the strings left in place, but the most interesting part is that his slap technique is also upside down, he slaps with the fingers and pops with the thumb, heres the vid-

Ineresting. As another "upside down" lefty I'll have to give that technique a go. I'm not a big fan of slap bass, but it would occasionally be nice to have an option to play it. I normally get by by popping with both fingers (and my thumb) but building up any sort of speed is quite hard.

My old friend Lee Pomeroy (now playing bass for Take That and appearing in Elites string ads!) does some amazing lefty-and-upside-down slapping... he still slaps with the thumb and pops with the index finger, but it's impressive to watch him do it upside down! :)
