Hi Chaps

Been very fortunate to have a very understanding wife who supports my hobby :) <3 She got me the chorus pedal I'd been GAS'ing for a while (Boss CEB-3) and has now come up trumps with my latest acquisition - a Palmer D'Accapo re-amping box :gas: got them both from Amazon and the Palmer was a bargain at only £60! Can't grumble with that!

We recently bought a new laptop to replace my ageing Toshiba and her Dell (we got another Toshiba, built like a tank), which comes with Windows 8 64-bit. Not entirely happy with the OS as it seems to want to update every single time we turn it on!

Another issue I've been having up until last weekend was the lack of suitable drivers for my old M-Audio FTP. Not willing to bin it and get something newer, I have perseverd and apparently I'm not the only person to be upset with Avid  finally found the latest drivers (v6.1.10) here: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Download/Fast-Track-Pro-Drivers

At the same time I got the latest stable ASIO drivers for 64-bit OS's here: http://www.asio4all.com/ and Reaper v4.402 here: http://www.reaper.fm/download.php

Must say Reaper runs very well on the Tosh - its got 6GB of RAM to play with but TBH haven't pushed it in the extreme yet. Maybe the mix comp is just the thing to see if I can push it to its limits. Another addition on the laptop is the HDMI out which lets me run the 24" TV as a second display - handy for stacking all the lanes on it.

Anyway hope this has been helpful

ATB,
