Ant_On_Bass Posted August 1, 2013 Share Posted August 1, 2013 I'm currently using a Geddy Lee Jazz with EMG pickups, i've found them to be a bit warm sounding to how i would normally like them, i play metal and like to have the bass cut through, alot of attack, "growly" woof! so i'm not really getting on with these so well, so i was just wondering what J pickups would be good for the sort of style i like really? i'm not very clued up on it so any help or advice would be welcomed :-) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thunderbird Posted August 1, 2013 Share Posted August 1, 2013 This thread also interests myself I looked into the wizard pickups I think they are supposed to give a growly thump anyone tried these? as they seem good value at about half the price of Seymour Duncan quarter pounders. skidder652003 Posted August 3, 2013 Share Posted August 3, 2013 (edited) Wizard 64's and 84's get good reviews here and at £42 are cheaper than the SD's but i don't think they are as hot output as the quarter pounders, although i could be wrong. [/quote] Hmmm that is food for thought any other pups worth looking at that are similar to the quarter pounders? The Wizard Hammers look interesting.
