Anyway, this is a Simon & Patrick 'Mahogany' Model acoustic guitar, luthier-built by hand in Canada. Back & Sides are Mahogany. Top is Spruce (Select Pressure-Tested Solid Top). Fingerboard & Bridge are Rosewood. Finish is High-Gloss Custom Polish. Tusq® nut & saddle by Graphtech. This specific model also has tortoiseshell bindings around the top and back (see pics). It's a top-quality item.

The current mrs discreet bought this example in New York about ten years ago for $450. To buy one brand new today would cost you considerably more. Tone-wise, it has a wonderful balance of mellow warmth and dynamic clarity. She used it a while back to accompany her keening and wailing on the folk scene in the unlucky environs of Camden Town. She will miss it and will be very sorry to see it go. She doesn't play or sing much now since that nasty business with the Noise Abatement Society. It comes with a Macari's heavy-duty padded gig bag.
