i was just wondering if anyone has done some sort of bass shoot out video or bass rig shoot out with multiple basses or rigs? i only ask as there is a guy called fearedse on youtube that does this for guitar heads, pretty cool although i tend o find he makes them all sound pretty similar haha

Would be cool to see a few basses reviewed like that!

For amps, the poor audio quality of Youtube at the best of times and the inability to hear an amp within the confines of different rooms and spaces, I personally don't see the point other than to give a kind of overview of the head's basic controls and function. The same goes for basses to an extent.

Yeah i think perhaps your right with that actually, i never really thought about it, i think i'd definitely be interested to hear someone playing different basses maybe through an audio interface to get a general idea, that or i'll just have to do it the less lazy way an actually go and try basses out myself haha

Don't know if this is the type of thing you're talking about but I did this one a few months back, doing a comparison between a Warwick Corvette and a Fender Jazz (did it mainly for my own purposes, it's always interesting to hear these types of A/B's with your own basses, you often notice things you were't aware of previously).

I think it's nice to get inspired by new gear though isn't it! That's why you'll still catch me checking out reviews of stuff on Youtube, it can be entertaining to watch (if a little nerdy, but we're all bass players I guess!). In reality if I really want to play something I'll try to have a go of the product in question myself.
