As in the previous year, a Bass Camp organized in cooperation with the German magazine Gitarre & Bass will be hosted here at Warwick in Markneukirchen, Germany. From September 2nd to September 7th, bassists from all over the world again have the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s best low-end specialists!

The following artists have signed up to join the Gitarre & Bass and Warwick Bass Camp 2013:

Victor Wooten, Lee Sklar, John Pattituci, Stuart Hamm, Alphonso Johnson, Steve Bailey, Jonas Hellborg, John B. Williams, Dick Lövgren, Victor Brandt, Regi Wooten, Antonella Mazza, Andy Irvine, Hellmut Hattler, Wolfgang Schmid, Günther Gebauer and Ove Bosch.

The number of participants is limited, and Gitarre & Bass has already received the first batch of registrations, so be sure to register in time for this outstanding event that is without equal world-wide. Please register at www.gitarrebass.de/BassCamp, for more information, please e-mail [email protected]. Early registrants will be able to participate in the Bass Camp 2013 - including six overnight stays, meals and daily workshops - for the price of 599.00 € (this applies to bookings made until June 30th 2013 at the latest). Late bookers, who register starting from July 1st, pay 699.00 €.

The Bass Camp 2013 will conclude with a company Open House Day on September 7th. As last year, when we celebrated Warwick’s 30th anniversary, there will be plenty of live music during the entire day. The following bands have confirmed to join us:

Duff Boyz (www.reverbnation.com/duffboyz), Wendrsonn (www.wendrsonn.de), Hellmut Hattler & his band (www.helmut-hattler.de), Angry Loner (http://www.facebook.com/AngryLoner), and JoStLe. The main act will be the official German Rammstein cover band Herzleid (www.herzleid-musik.de).

For the evening of September 7th, a final Gitarre & Bass and Warwick Bass Camp 2013 party event is scheduled. The main act of the night will be the band Jamirolike, who will be partying with us until the early hours.

Gitarre & Bass and Warwick are already looking forward to meeting everyone who will be joining us here in Markneukirchen from September 2nd to September 7th 2013.

Ha! I was going to post this too! I'm again very tempted, and mightily annoyed at not having been able to attend last year.
Garey, I've emailed them asking whether they have any double bass and/or EUB masterclasses lined up. If they had any, I think I'd throw caution to the wind and book myself in almost immediately :)

Well, John B Williams uses EUB entirely in his presentation. John Pattitucci is a master of the upright, but I'm not yet sure what his course will be in detail. And last year Antonella Mazza's presentation was done using EUB and electric both. Steve Bailey is also an amazing upright player - so perhaphs in the free time you could seek out some further details from either of them! Thanks!
