Grafen
I truly love this bass, being an ardent fan of Percy Jones and all, however I urgently need a five-string fretless so I'm having a look to see what's out there. It's a 1979 Wal Pro 2 E with and ash body, factory fretless rosewood fingerboard. Classic Wal fat V-shape neck profile. Very recently serviced by Paul at Electric Wood who's given it an extraordinary overhaul so it now plays wonderfully. By far the best fretless I've ever played, all the classic growls are there, incredibly touch sensitive and musical in lack of a better word. Somehow it also makes me play more in tune for some reason. Condition is probably around EX, some typical poly lacquer hairline cracks and two dents on the backside lower bout (pictured). Original case is unfortunately long gone due to literally falling apart, comes with an SKB hardcase in very good nick. Really only looking for fretless 5- (or possibly 6) stringers, preferably with a lined fingerboard. Open to more or less any quality brand. *edit* WITHDRAWN *edit* Edited January 28, 2013 by Grafen
osborne900
Lovely bass and a good price. I have a sunburst one otherwise I'd be all over it! Instant Giblin and they do seem to play in tune better than other fretless basses for some reason. Go figure? Good luck. O900
Grafen
Thanks! By the way, I'd gladly chip in for a 5-string fretless Mk 2 or 3 otherwise mostly interested in straight swaps, please.
silverfoxnik
My personal favourite model and finish of all the Wal basses! Unique design features and a very distinctive tone... Good luck with the sale.
Grafen
Thanks! And I agree, it still sounds undeniably Wal but in a completely different way than the Mk-series.
