now SOLD subject to final payment.

This 2004/5 bass is in very good condition, with a just a few very minor dings and scratches, which the natural wood and clear polyurethane finish hides very nicely anyway.

Quality upgrades are ......

1/ Fralin pickups. These are simply superb and very mid-complex.

2/ GOTOH high mass bridge

3/ Hipshot tuners.

Plays beautifully. The neck is slim and comfortable and playability is, IMO, superb. Fretwork is faultless, the neck-binding and the block-inlays have a look of "class" about them. Visually, the neck looks to be lovely and tight within it's pocket. Currently loaded with nickel roundwounds 100-40. I have it set with a low-med action as I dig in pretty hard. Comes with a well used, but effective hard shell case. The tone with these upgrades is simply classic Jazz with all the right frequencies to cut through beautifully in a band setting. Easily the nicest J bass I have played.

Shielded very, very well. For a straight ole single coil Jazz with no fancy noiseless (toneless ?) pickups, she is very quiet. My bathroom scales put the weight at 3.75kg, which seems a bit optimistic to me, but I'd say it was neither "heavy" or "light". If I had to guess, and and I do as I have no other way to weigh it, I'd say it is somewhere arout 4kg (8.5 lbs)

Please be aware that the CIJ '75 RI Jazzes actually have 60's spacing (generally considered the "standard" jazz spacing) between the pickups, not the slightly wider 70's spacing.

See below for some pics and vids of soundclips of each pickup. Bass straight into a mixer and into my computer. Mild compression applied via Ableton Live. No other effects.

For sale as I am finding I am becoming a P bass tone man. This Jazz gets close on the neck pickup, but as the P tone is what I am aiming for 95% of the time, I may as well get the real thing. I'll admit that I will miss the uber-funky bridge pickup tone of this Jazz though, which a P can't touch of course..

Anyway, £595 couriered to you within mainland UK. Happy to ship abroad, but please contact me for exact costs. Would probably be asking about an extra £20 for shipping within the EU.

No trade offers, thanks.

Shame there is no trades on this as I would snap your arm off if you'd have accepted my Lakland Bob Glaub in trade. Alas I will have to wish you the best of luck in your sale! Have a bump on me!

If it had been a Duck Dunn I'd have bitten your hand off but unfortunately I just can't cope with large nut widths.
