Evening all

I'm thinking of making a bass cab but as its my first one I have a few questions that need answering first

I have a 1x15 eminence driver 300w 8ohm that I intend to use but I'm not too sure on the on the correct size of the cab so I found a Genz Benz cab and took the dimensions from it. the dimensions are
22.25 x 23.25 x 16.25 inches. Would this be okay?

Also which type of plywood should I use?

The cab is sized for the particular speaker, so you may be lucky, but probably wo'nt be.

Download a free speaker box design program (WinISD is fairly good), select the specific model of Eminence driver that you have, and it will give you the right size of box, and the right size of ports for the box and that speaker.

3/4 inch ply will make a solid and heavy box. 1/2 inch ply will make a lighter box, but you have to put a 2-3 inch deep shelf about every 8 inches on each side to make sure it does not flex.

If you search on DIY cabs, BFM cabs etc you will find plenty of advice on what to do next.
More than a few, I'd venture. First off, you need to understand what this is all about:
http://www.eminence....udspeaker-data/

And then how to use that data in this:
http://www.lineartea...x?pageid=winisd

And then how to use the results from that to construct a box, with help from sources like this:
http://techtalk.part...-Building-Bible

If it seems like that's a lot to have to go through just to build a speaker, it is. But building a speaker is a lot more involved than just sticking a driver into a box.
