Ive played in a few bands in the southampton area, though had a 10 year layoff ( raising a family etc )
but getting back into it over the last couple of years

ive got :-
Washburn SH60 natural ( modified with Entwistle P & J passive pickups )
Yamaha RBX270 ( tuned to D )
Trace Elliot GP7-130
Laney RB410

Thanks,
Jon

Hey Jon,

Welcome!
Yup. it's a great place to chat bass. Friendly gang with community sensitivities.

Many people here have returned to playing bass after a long hiatus, so the pattern is recognised.

That SH60 is a very nice looking bass. Had never heard about it (am a noob). How does it play and sound?

Enjoy the banter!

best,
bert

Hi Bert, thanks for the welcome,
the SH60's active system packed up on me, so i junked all the electronics ( never liked how it sounded anyway ) and bolted in the Entwislte pick ups, a single volume pot and a 3 way switch from a Les Paul, and now sounds great, the scratch plate is a chopped fender P. plate :)

(don't listen to Bert, I heard he invented the bass guitar!)

Shoosh!
Since it's out now: yes, I did, in 1849 or so. Had no money to post the patent application though. Now, more than 16 decennia later, I still have to learn to play it, so I feel it's reasonable that I be called a "noobe", just like I was back thenne.
