short scale flat wounds with no binding

I normally use Status short-scale flats. However, I recently purchases a Gibson SG bass and it is fitted with the three point gibson bridge. The bridge design means that the binding sits on the saddles.

This also happens with the replacement hipshot super tone bridge. I was going to replace it with a Schaller 3D bridge but the additional screw-holes wouldn't be as hidden as I thought they would if I was to ever put it back to it's original state for sale purposes.

Also worth checking Hofner own-brand flatwounds. Have a look at this:

AFAIK, all Hofner short-scale flatwounds fit all the vintage and vintage-style hollow-body and semi-acoustic basses, so that's a 'Yes' for the President & Senator (or for the 500/5 and 500/3).

I think it's also true for the solid-body basses (182/Professional & 185/Artist) with their in-line headstocks, but I'm not quite so sure.
