Problem withHondo Rickenbacker copy - string popping out

Hello there,

I have a 70s Rickenbacker copy, a Hondo II, which has been fine until recently. I noticed that the A string was popping out of the nut on the odd occasion and now it won't stay in at all. I had a look at the white plastic nut and the grooves look OK. Mind you the whole nut "moves"! And I was able to take it out of its slot on the neck. The other three strings are fine. Any ideas? Is it something I can fix myself??

Thanks

Well thats weird. I had a Hondo rick copy back in the 70s when I was a kid. It used to do exactly the same thing. Once it popped it was never right again. It was still like it when I sold it back then. Good guitar for the money too if I remember correctly. Good luck with it, I wish I still had mine
