largo Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I just took delivery of 2 new GK Neo 112-ii cabs and they come with very nice 4-wire speakon leads. Because I use a Markbass amp I need to use 2-wire speakon leads. So easy question, can I convert the GK ones to 2-wire by disconnecting 2 of the wires or are they completely different? Cheers. Quote

The 1+ to 1+ and 1- to 1- are compatible with 2-pole Speakons. Quote

You want to wire them so that you have one wire going to the +1 connector at both ends and the second wire going to the -1 connector at both ends. Leave the other two wires disconnected. Quote
obbm Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Does the Markbass head use 2-pole Speakon sockets then? Quote
obbm Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011
I believe so.
Fair enough then the options are to change one end as icastle suggests or sell the GK cables (they are needed for GK Bi-amp systems) and buy some new 2-pole Speakon cables.
